Data Protection

On 25 May 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force.  This enhanced former legislation based on the Data Protection Act 1998 because of the advances in technology and the amount of data that is available for and on individuals.

As a school, Plashet has always exercised the strictest measures to ensure student and staff confidentiality by safekeeping our personal data. GDPR goes one step further in data protection in that we, as a school, are required to demonstrate compliance with the GDPR regulations.

It will also give individuals more rights, should they wish to obtain information on what data is held in our records.

The attached Privacy Notices set out in detail what GDPR means to you and your daughters as well as contact details, should you wish to raise any queries with us.  There is one for students and one for Parents/Carers. You are strongly encouraged to familiarise yourselves with these documents to ensure you are aware of GDPR and its implications for you as individuals and us as a school.

Further information will be published on this webpage on a regular basis. Please do access this to ensure you are up to date.

All correspondence and queries should be made by either calling the school or emailing us on: info@plashet.newham.sch.uk.

This is a summary of the information the school holds about students, why it is held and the third parties to whom it may be passed on. If you would like a paper copy please contact Stephen Beach at the school.
