Wellbeing
How do we support wellbeing at Plashet?
We have a strong wellbeing team at Plashet, each year group has its own wellbeing mentor so that students have a member of staff who, alongside their Form Tutor and Year coordinator, is able to support their well-being and help them with any challenges they may face. Wellbeing mentors at Plashet School aim to provide support for students to ensure that they are able to sustain high levels of mental fitness and can flourish. This in turn will place them in the best possible position to make outstanding progress in their learning.
The team works collaboratively with all departments but most significantly with the pastoral teams across the school to support whatever challenges come into the lives of our students.
The team works closely with Year Coordinators, the school’s Attendance Officer, the Designated Safeguarding Lead and the Leadership Team.
How can we support you and your daughter?
We provide support in a range of ways including one to one session, groups sessions, workshops and termly themed events and activities. Our mentoring interventions have been designed in a purposeful and robust way to ensure that we measure progress across the social and emotional dimensions of a student’s learning, resilience and potential.
To ensure best practice the wellbeing mentors are trained in a range of coaching techniques, this allows them to diversify their repertoire and offer an enhanced bespoke approach, allowing students to make the most of their mentoring intervention.
